Chamber
You appeared in the gloom,
sun starts rising,
and we moved closer to each other,
reflections in our eyes
We sat before the board,
mid-day, now, shining,
enjoyed the warmth, the game, sat across from each other,
but oh how time flies
Too soon the curtain lowers,
twilight's ink spreading,
prickles across the skin, our faces withdrawing,
a day-dream slips away
A glass wall slides into place,
silent, dividing,
and our eyes no longer sparkle nor glint,
and we sit and stare at space
A door opens behind us each,
the noise, they are waiting,
half of the game to each remains
away, we are going....
